Outdoor seating is great, and in the back they have a cool area with a pizza food truck that was pretty good. If you have a non-beer drinker in your group I think they also serve wine.ĭecor is beautiful inside, lots of reclaimed wood and a huge Texas on the ceiling. Just ask the bartender what to order, and get a pint. They have flight options, but for the price ($12 for a pre-selected flight of 5 beers, $15 or more to build your own), I would recommend against it. Review that sums it up best: This gem at the end of Rainey Street is a must-see for craft beer lovers! 50 craft beers on tap, and they're ALL brewed in Texas! Local only in this bar! The bartenders are very knowledgeable and will help you select a beer you haven't tried before. The bathrooms were even beautiful, I'm not sure how one can comment on bathrooms but I am! Can't wait til the next time I get the chance to make my way to the Roosevelt but be guaranteed you will be impressed! I appreciated the beautiful chandeliers hanging, the candle lit tables and beautiful bar lit counter. Clearly this is a place where the folks are close, the drinks are strong and the vibe intimate and fun! It became a silly joke for each of them to get myself and my friend water as quickly as possible. The lovely Kara and Gabby were so sweet and I truly appreciated their friendliness and amazing personalities and senses of humor. I had some of the ladies clearing the plates of our snacks of the private event away, as well as some bottles of water left on our tables should we need to hydrate ourselves.
I couldn't even tell, they were running like a smooth running machine and had the drinks pouring and going at all times! They pride themselves on only the finest liquor to be used and have Happy hours every day from 4-7pm, all day HH Tuesday and half-price Whiskey Weds! Justin one of the co-owners had let us all know that at the time I came, they had been open for a little over 6 months. Review that sums it up best: The Roosevelt is a swanky, fancy, strong drink a pouring bar that I had the chance to scope out for enjoying myself within a closed private event party and intimate setting. Go support him and be thankful he had this vision. Owner and ATX native Johnny Latouf set out to give back some of what's been stolen from our fair city, and he succeeds beautifully. I know that there's pizza available but we weren't there to eat so I can't comment on the menu or food. Staff is very friendly, drinks are tasty and affordable. But I know I'll be back, especially for a happy hour on Thursdays and Fridays so I can be serenaded by the wonderful Margaret wright. I just don't know how I've not been here before.
The outside patio/yard area is perfect for large groups - it's huge - but two can easily find a cozy corner too. It's old school comfy, with a nice inner bar area filled with booths and tables and a stage that regularly features some awesome local blues talent. Skylark gives you a delightful taste of old Austin, even though it's fairly new. So you can imagine my delight when I stumbled upon skylark lounge. I always SMH when I see rapid development and unbridled growth going on in this town - like Rainey St and the east side - because the greedy are killing the very things that drew them (and us) to these quaint and quirky spots in the first place. Review that sums it up best: There are fewer and fewer places left in the ATX that capture the essence of old Austin.
